Pro Trader Strategies · Micro E-mini Starter Playbook
Trade the S&P 500 at 1/10th the size
Hi ~Contact.FirstName~, You already read stock charts. There is a futures contract on the S&P 500 built at one tenth the size of the standard E-mini. It is called the Micro E-mini S&P 500, ticker MES. Here is the contract math, as an illustration only: MES is $5 per index point. The full-size E-mini (ES) is $50 per point. A 4-point move is $20 on one MES and $200 on one ES. Smaller dollars per point means smaller numbers on the screen while you learn ticks, points, sessions and report days. It does not make futures safe. Leverage cuts both ways, and futures trading involves substantial risk of loss. - ✓ How a Micro E-mini contract works: points, ticks, dollars
- ✓ How to set up a futures chart
- ✓ A simple trend check on 5- and 15-minute MES charts
- ✓ One written example setup to study on paper
- ✓ Three printable checklists
