Right stock, wrong size

Here's a pattern I see all the time: a trader finds a good setup, then buys whatever size "feels right." One bad gap later, a month of work is gone.

The fix is arithmetic, not a better indicator. A $25,000 account risking 1% has $250 on the line. Entry $50, stop $47.50 = $2.50 per share = 100 shares. Not 500. (Hypothetical example.)
