You already know how to read a chart. Futures can still feel like another language: ticks, points, margin, contract months. This Quick Start translates it. It is built around the Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MES) and Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 (MNQ), contracts sized at one tenth of the standard E-mini.
Here is the contract math, as an illustration: MES is $5 per index point. The full-size E-mini S&P 500 (ES) is $50 per point. A 4-point move is $20 on one MES and $200 on one ES. A smaller size means smaller numbers on the screen while you learn the mechanics. It does not remove risk. Leverage cuts both ways.
